A Kimono Fashion Show in Kyoto, Japan

[These photos were taken in 2012.]

At 2:15 pm, the lights on the runway turned on and the crowd around the stage grew thick. One women at a time began walking out from behind the stage dressed in ornate kimonos.

I was at the Nishijin Textile Center in Kyoto, where they have vendors, historical archives, exhibits, presentations, traditional handcraft demonstrations and daily (free) kimono fashion shows.

Below are photos from one of the shows.

If you want to dress up in a kimono, Elibelle* sells costume kimonos that are pretty cute.
